• How much does a student sponsorship cost?

    • Each student sponsorship share is $36/month or $432/year, and each student needs three shares to be fully sponsored for their scholarship. You can choose your sponsored student and can sponsor as many shares or students as you like.

    • What does my donation provide for my student?

    • Your gift provides a student the opportunity to learn and lift all of our students out of poverty. A gift through student sponsorship is combined with other donations to ensure that the student you have chosen, along with their classmates, will continue to receive a Christ-centered, transformational education.

    • How long does a student sponsorship last?

    • We ask that a sponsor commits to at least one year, but we encourage sponsors to stay with the student throughout their time at eduKenya’s schools.

      What will I receive throughout the year? 

    • Following your sponsorship, you will receive a student profile and a letter from our team and then at least two personal communications per year which will include an updated photo with a teacher update, and a creative project of theirs later on in the year.

      Can I communicate with my sponsored student?

    • You can send a message to sponsorship@edukenya.org and we require that they meet Communication Guidelines included below. Once received, our staff will send it to our team in Kenya. While we understand that some may desire to develop a penpal type relationship, there will not be a direct response from the student you are sponsoring. These messages would be prefaced with “Our friend in the United States wanted to share a word with you…”

    • Can I send a gift to my sponsored student?

    • No gifts of any kind are allowed to be sent directly to the child, nor through our office.

    • What’s the difference between sponsoring a student and giving monthly to eduKenya?

    • We want to share the stories of our students, and this program allows you the opportunity to follow a student directly impacted by your gift. Throughout their time in our program, you will receive insight into the life of a child and receive regular updates. All monthly donations are crucial to our operations, but we know that many donors love seeing the faces, names and stories of those directly impacted.

    • What happens if a student I sponsor is no longer part of the eduKenya schools?

    • You will be notified in a timely manner via email. With your approval, your sponsorship may be transferred to another child with a similar profile in the same program, or you may choose another student.

      Are my donations tax deductible?

    • eduKenya is a 501[c](3) qualified charitable organization, contributions to which are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.
